GST Admission Requirements

Georgia State University has implemented a unique process to admit GST (General Service System) eligible students who otherwise may not have been able to achieve admittance into a traditional college. The GST admission process is a hands-on, personalized test that asks a series of multiple-choice questions designed to identify the potential student's strengths and weaknesses. If you are a GST qualified applicant, you can apply for admission to Georgia State University with an online application.

There are several ways to improve your chances of success in the GST admission process. Students can gain admission by completing the GST Free Admissions Test (FATS), which is offered to first come, first serving students. This is a prerequisite for acceptance into the General Service System. Students can also get FATS Prep or admission preparation materials at the GHS website.

Students should consider taking a course that prepares them for the GST exam. Taking the preparation tests and passing them allows students a leg up on the competition for admission to the university. Students should also take advantage of the many resources that will be available to them throughout the admissions process. These include informational web sites, blogs, and sample test questions.

Many prospective students fail their GST because they did not have the right test prep. Students should make sure they choose a test prep program that has been accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. This will help assure that the test will be fair and complete. The SAT or ACT (SAT/ACT) provides test preparation material for students as well as tips on how to succeed on the test. Taking the SAT or ACT test will also help applicants increase their score on the General Service System Admission (GST) to reduce the impact of GPA (graduation GPA).

There are many ways to take a GST. It is important that students choose an accredited test provider. Some schools offer the test over the Internet, and others offer online classes. Online classes may offer better access to tutors and more time to prepare for the exam because of the lack of in class study. Online testing will also be less expensive, but applicants should find out all they can about the admission process before enrolling.

The GST is not the only standardized exam that will be required for acceptance into a degree program at either the high school or the college level. Students must also successfully complete an SAT or ACT. In addition to these two tests, many students will have to successfully complete the Financial Aid Application and Services (FAS) process. Information about each of these steps can be found on the Financial Aid website.
