Monmouth and Staten Island Announce 2022 Football Schedule

Monmouth University's home football schedule concludes tomorrow. ECU opens the 2022 season at Union (Ky.) and will play the Bulldogs. Staten Island opens its football season with four home games, its first four since 1941. In addition to the games listed below, here are four other noteworthy games scheduled for tomorrow. Monmouth University closes its home football schedule tomorrow

Despite a disappointing season last year, Monmouth has a bright future. With a $15 million renovation underway, Kessler Field will feature 4,200 seats and a brick structure. During the 2022 season, Monmouth will play in the Colonial Athletic Association and will begin a nine-game schedule against Big Ten teams. It will also play the Illinois Fighting Illini and Fordham Rams.

Located in West Long Branch, New Jersey, Monmouth University is a private, nonprofit university with an enrollment of 6,700 students. The school has earned the highest ranking in U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges list in three years and sponsors 24 Division I teams. The men's basketball team has won three regular conference titles and made two NIT appearances under head coach King Rice. ECU opens its 2022 season against Union (Ky.) Bulldogs

The East Carolina Pirates have announced their 2022 football schedule and are preparing to kick off the year with seven home games against four programs that were ranked in the final polls from last year. The 1941 team finished second in the eastern division, and rushing champion Clarence "Pug" Manders ran for 486 yards and the NFL rushing title. Other notable players who joined the team during that year include Warren Alfson and Merlyn Condit. The 1940 and 1941 seasons were the most successful in the franchise's history.

In the fall of 2001, Staten Island's first four football games will be played at home. Unlike in 1941, the team's schedule is more challenging than ever. This season, the Stapes are 2-0 and play the Chicago Bears twice at Crosley Field, where they played in the regular season and lost the first game. However, their first home game against the Chicago Bears is at Innisfail Park, where they were averaging just 4,000 fans per game.
